Play and creative arts-based therapy for children.
Holistic counselling and support for parents.
Based in Southern Adelaide. Over a decade of experience.
Adelaide Therapeutic Services is a Southern Adelaide based therapy practice offering in-school, home and our therapeutic clinic-based support to children and their families. With over a decade of experience, we are passionate about providing safe support, with a neuro-affirming, trauma informed lens.
We work with both children, parents and whole families and aim to provide a safe space throughout your journey.
At Adelaide Therapeutic Services we are passionate about providing early-intervention work, NDIS capacity building, supporting behavioural difficulties, as well as supporting children who have experienced trauma.
Our sessions are based on therapeutic play and creative arts-based therapy for children to enhance capacity-building, support their social and emotional well-being aiming to enhance their sense of self, promote development of their social skills, communication, emotional regulation, resilience, self-esteem and broaden their understanding of the world.
Through our therapy sessions we discover how children see themselves and the world so that they can be supported to be the best version of themselves. For children who have experienced early-childhood trauma the impact of this can be lifelong, our sessions help children process their experiences, develop their ability to emotionally regulate and build their sense of self-esteem.
Adelaide Therapeutic Services provides both holistic counselling and support to parents and caregivers.
We understand that there any many aspects of a person's life which can impact their wellbeing, including their parenting journey, and we have several approaches we utilise in counselling sessions, tailoring your support to suit your individual needs, personality and goals. We strongly believe that growth and healing happens within the safety of a therapeutic relationship.
We also offer parenting support for parents and caregivers, we understand that when a child is experiencing difficulties this impacts the whole family, and we provide tailored advice and tools to help support your child and your family.
"Play therapy is to children, what talk therapy is to adults"
"Ultimately, counselling is an act of hope. It's the hope that something might get better, and for that to happen, it requires something to change"
