At Adelaide Therapeutic Services we are deeply passionate about providing therapy to children. We believe that early support can make a lasting difference in a child's life.
We believe every child deserves to feel heard, understood, and empowered and we are committed to creating a safe, supportive space where they can grow, heal and thrive.
We specialise in working with children who are neurodiverse (with or without diagnosis), require early intervention support and evidence building, have behavioural difficulties and with children who have experienced early childhood trauma.
Our sessions provide a safe space for children to fully be themselves and we utilise therapeutic play and creative art techniques, centred around the child. This enables us to approach children from a developmental perspective, enabling us to support them with their natural medium of communication, play. Children express themselves more fully when engaging in spontaneous play, they can communicate their feelings and experiences when they may not have the vocabulary to describe them. Play supports children to process traumatic experiences without needing to relive them, explore consequences of actions in a safe environment, strengthen self-esteem, learn how to regulate emotions and more.
Sessions can be in-person, telehealth, school-based or in-home and we work with families across Australia.
Parents & caregivers are offered consultation sessions alongside the child journey to help support their child's development. By enhancing parent/caregivers' awareness of how to support their child effectively, we contribute to the improved wellbeing of the entire family.
Alongside supporting your child with 1:1 therapy, we can also provide supports and resources for home, childcare or school. These can include, visuals, schedules, resources for emotional regulation and transitions and social stories.

Intake sessions provide parents with an opportunity to discuss their child strengths and challenges and to further understand what the sessions will look like. A Therapy Treatment Plan will be provided following the intake appointment and regular appointments will be scheduled.
Children do not attend intake sessions; should you wish to continue you will be provided with a pack to take home to help prepare your child for their first appointment.
